Terpsi ("the app," "we," "us") is a personal dance-video library app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Android, and Wear OS. This policy explains what data the app handles and how, across every platform. Our approach is privacy-first: we collect as little as we can, we never sell your data, we never show ads, and we never use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Where a practice differs between the Apple and Android versions, we say so.
Terpsi uses an account so your library and profile can follow you across your devices and be restored if you reinstall. When you create an account we store:
You sign in with Google, or with an email address and password, on every platform, and additionally with Sign in with Apple on iPhone and iPad. This account information is held in our backend, which is operated for us by Supabase (see "Service providers" below). We use it only to run your account. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.
If you fill in your profile, we also store the dance styles you follow, the year you started dancing, your country, your preferred language, and an avatar photo if you add one. You can edit or clear any of these at any time in the app.
The dance clips, thumbnails, tags, trims, comparisons, and floor-log entries you create are stored on your device. We, the developer, cannot see or access this content, and it is never sent to any server we operate.
If you turn on cloud sync (part of Terpsi Plus), your library is backed up to your own private cloud storage so it stays in sync across your devices and can be restored:
In both cases this is your personal cloud storage, tied to your Apple or Google account. We cannot read, receive, or access the synced videos or their details. Cloud sync is optional: you can turn it off, and you can export a single backup file to keep or restore yourself.
To run your account across your devices, keep you signed in, and understand which versions of the app are in use, we record a small amount of technical data for each installation, linked to your account:
If you enable notifications, we also store a push-notification token so we can deliver them (the Apple Push Notification service on iPhone and iPad; Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android). You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time.
Any analytics we collect are anonymous, aggregated, and never linked to your identity or used to track you across other apps or websites.
If you send feedback from within the app, we receive the message you write and, so that we can reply, any email address you choose to provide. To help us reproduce problems, the message is sent together with your app version and build, operating system version, and device model. Feedback reaches us by email through a relay on terpsi.app (operated for us by Cloudflare); the message content is never sent to our analytics.
Terpsi Plus is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It is processed by the App Store on iPhone and iPad and by Google Play on Android. We never see or receive your payment information: the store handles the transaction and tells the app only whether Plus is active. We store that active or inactive status with your account so your purchase follows you across your devices.
If you allow it, Terpsi reads your "Social Dance" workouts from Apple Health, on your device only, to add the nights you danced to your floor log. This access is read-only, we never write to Health, and this data is never sent off your device or to our analytics. You can revoke access in the Health app at any time.
We rely on a few service providers to run the app on our behalf. They process data only to provide their service to us:
Your synced library on iCloud or Google Drive lives in your own account, not ours. Those providers act for you, and we cannot read it.
We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account exists. Anonymous analytics are retained only as long as needed for the purposes above and cannot be traced back to you. When you delete your account (see below), we remove your login and delete or anonymize your profile.
You can edit your profile, turn cloud sync and notifications on or off, and export a backup at any time. You can delete your account from within the app, in Settings under Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your login and deletes or anonymizes your profile and avatar on our backend.
Your synced library lives in your own iCloud or Google Drive and is not removed by deleting your Terpsi account. You can delete it by turning off cloud sync and removing Terpsi's data from your iCloud or Google account. Terpsi is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
